In July 2007 Alcon, Inc., the world's largest ophthalmic company, purchased Wavelight, Inc., from its German based manufacturer. This company makes the advanced custom excimer laser system that Dr. Pamel had been using in his New York office for almost four years prior to the merger. Alcon abandoned the Ladarvision Custom Cornea platform, and now focuses exclusively on the Wavelight laser technology. Dr. Pamel was the first person in New York to use the Wavelight-Allegretto system, and one of the first surgeons in the country to have the system installed in his office following FDA approval in 2003. Alcon's intent to no longer use the Ladarvision Custom Cornea platform reinforces the superior technology that the Wavelight system has over the Alcon Ladarvision system — a decision New York City LASIK surgeon, Dr. Pamel wholeheartedly supports.

During a thorough consultation at our office, Dr. Pamel will discuss the particular procedure that will prove most beneficial to you.
